What is Liposonix Technology?
LipoSonix is a device that has been used to permanently eliminate fat cells and reduce waist size. LipoSonix uses focused ultrasound waves to permanently get rid of fat cells selectively in your problem areas. LipoSonix eliminates these fat cells without surgery and with minimal side effects.
What are the expected effects?
LipoSonix permanently stops fat cells in the treatment area. A treatment is recommended in the area. One treatment takes about an hour. Current studies have shown an average decrease in waist size of 4.6 cm or 1.8 inches after 3 months. This is essentially a pant size. While some LipoSonix results are often seen in 1-2 weeks, it usually takes 3-6 months for final results to be noticed.
Who is a good candidate for Liposonix?
LipoSonix is better for certain patients. Both women and men can be candidates. You should be able to pinch off at least an inch of fat in your area of concern. A layer of fat of less than an inch is unlikely to require treatment. You should also be pretty close to your ideal body weight. People with a Body Mass Index (BMI) less than 30 can be candidates. If your BMI is greater than 30, you will likely do better with liposuction than LipoSonix. LipoSonix is currently approved for use on the abdomen and love handles. Some patients may be appropriate for other areas of the body.
